ITV unveils logo for Deal or No Deal reboot

ITV has released the logo for its Deal or no Deal reboot which will air on ITV1 and ITVX later this year.

With new host Stephen Mulhern, contestants will once more battle it out against the notorious Banker to be in with a chance of winning a life-changing cash prize, in a nail-biting game of nerves and intuition.

Each week, a contestant is confronted with 22 sealed boxes, each one hiding a different amount of money. Their goal is to keep the higher sums of money in play as they eliminate boxes from the game by choosing to open them.

One of the boxes is their own and at regular intervals the unseen banker will call the host with an offer for it based on how the game is faring.

Contestants are asked ‘Deal or No Deal?’ and must answer accordingly to accept or decline each offer.

If contestants choose to accept an offer the game continues on a ‘what if’ basis. Their box is the very last to be opened and they must hope they have made the correct decisions earlier in the game.

Speaking about hosting the ITV1 version, Mulhern said:

“Wow what an opportunity, I’m beyond excited to be hosting the brand-new series. I’ve always been such a huge fan of the show, so much so, I’ve been practising at home with small cereal boxes! It looks so simple but it’s an incredibly compelling game for both those playing and the viewers watching at home. It’s one of the greatest shows of all time and to be the new host is an honour! I can’t wait to get started.”

Deal or No Deal originated in the Netherlands in 2002, with more than 350 productions produced around the world. The original UK series ran on Channel 4 with Noel Edmonds as host from 2005 to 2016.

Casting is open and people who are interested in applying can do so via dealornodeal.co.uk

The show is being produced by Remarkable Entertainment for ITV.
