Rankin photography released as rehearsals begin on The Pillowman

Rehearsals began today for the West End premiere of Martin McDonagh’s The Pillowman.

To mark the start of rehearsals, a set of specially commissioned photographs of Lily Allen and Steve Pemberton by acclaimed British photographer Rankin have been released.

Allen plays Katurian, a writer in a police state whose short stories are analysed when there is a spate of murders in the area.

Pemberton portrays Tupolski, while Paul Kaye plays Ariel and Michal Tennyson is Michal.

The cast is completed by Rebecca Lee (Mother and understudy Katurian), Daniel Millar (Father and understudy Ariel and Tupolski) Carlotta Di Gregori (understudy Mother) and David Angland (Blind Man and understudy Michal and Father).

The role of Child 1 will be shared between Ruby Siddle, Madelynne Mills, and Sophia Cullingford, while Lexi Anna Scott, Darcy Crosby, and Lillie Stocker will play Child 2.

The production will run at the Duke of York Theatre in London from 10th June to 2nd September 2023, directed by Matthew Dunster.

The Pillowman is produced by Empire Street Productions.

There will be a Pay What You Can scheme, with 20 tickets per performance for the week, released the Wednesday beforehand.
