Rose Ayling-Ellis has been announced as a guest panellist for a Loose Women special to mark Deaf Awareness Week on Wednesday 3rd May.
The deaf actress will appear on the panel alongside Nadia Sawalha, Jane Moore and Kaye Adams.
The show will be available on ITV1 with subtitles, or fans can opt for a fully accessible version on ITVX which will also include an ‘in vision’ signer.
Working alongside charities Royal National Institute for Deaf People, Sign Health and The Deaf Collective, the show’s audience will be made up of the deaf community, along with family, friends and BSL signers, with captions available to the audience to make the live show accessible.
Rose is best known for her role as Frankie Lewis in the BBC soap EastEnders, which she played between 2020-2022. Frankie came to Walford to find her long-lost father, Mick Carter (Danny Dyer), and was horrified to learn that he was abused by her mother whilst in care. She was the show’s first regular deaf character.
Rose also made history by becoming the first deaf contestant to compete in and win Strictly Come Dancing, in 2021, paired with professional dancer Giovanni Pernice. The pair’s couple choice routine won a BAFTA for must-see moment last year.
Rose’s other TV credits include Summer of Rockets and Casualty.
