From a Rylan farewell to a saucy Loose Women

A look at recent showbiz news, wrapped up by Penelope Teeth, with her own views on the news…

STRICTLY DEPARTED

Rylan Clark announced via social media this week (Wednesday) that he had decided to take his sparking personality out of the Beeb’s ballroom yak-show Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two quitting the BBC Two show. In a statement he said that it had ‘been a pleasure’ working on It Takes Two, adding;

“After four fantastic years it’s time for me to hang up my glittery jacket and say goodbye to It Takes Two. I’ve had the best time hosting alongside Janette and Zoe and I can’t thank the amazing team enough for always putting on a great show.

“I’ve been welcomed into the Strictly family and will firmly hold that title dear to me. The time has come for me to pass on the baton to someone else and explore what else life has for me.  Thank you Strictly, you will always have my heart…and my dancing feet.”

BEENY BREASTS GET ALL CLEAR

Good news for a change and Sarah Beeny told viewers to ITV’s Lorraine show that she has been given the all-clear after a cancer diagnosis.

After giving much praise to the NHS, Beeny went on to note;

“I know it’s going to be there [in your head], and you’re always going to be aware of your body, but to hear those words at this point is a beautiful thing. It’s good. It’s weird. It’s kind of like they [the medical team] go ‘that’s it then’ and that’s the end of that. And you go ‘how do you know?’ and they say ‘well we don’t we just think so.’ It’s a weird end – you feel like there’s going to be a big moment.”

Sarah finished chemotherapy in February.

OFFENSIVE PRICE OF COMMENTS

Katie Price, how she’s not in nick is baffling, but it isn’t her drunk driving that’s made police headlines this time. Instead its two serving Metropolitan Police officers being fired that has made the press this week.

The cops have been dismissed over discriminatory messages they sent to colleagues in a WhatsApp group, including some about Katie Price’s disabled son. ‘The sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic and disablist comments were made between May 17, 2016 and June 26, 2018.’ noted ITV News. Price had demanded all eight officers involved be sacked.

The others had all resigned before the trial.

RIP

The cause of Paul O’Grady’s death has been revealed. The Lily Savage performer’s death certificate has revealed the entertainer died from sudden cardiac arrhythmia. It’s believed the For the Love of Dogs presenter’s cause of death was linked to ischemic heart disease.

Also departing the stage for the final time this week we said farewell to The Script guitarist Mark Sheehan who passed away aged 46, Antiques Roadshow expert Judith Miller died aged 71 and Dame Mary Quant, the iconic fashion designer, died at 93.

CREEPY WOMEN

ITV’s bastion of gutter television, Loose Women, has been hit with more controversy when the show welcomed pretty boy – but not a lot of talent – Mark Wright onto the show for a chat.

During Thursday afternoon’s offering the all-female panel had been discussing Channel 4’s controversial new show Naked Education, which led to saucy chat between the regulars and Mark who suggested he maybe should get naked, and when he spoke about being naked in changing rooms Coleen Nolan wanted to know where… keep it classy girls.
