Ant and Dec:

“We are so very sad to hear of the passing of Paul O’Grady. It was always a treat to see and work with him and he was always wickedly funny. A wonderful broadcaster and a lovely man, gone too soon. RIP Paul.”

Maggie Kirkpatrick:

“I had the great pleasure to share the stage with Paul, well Lily that is in Prisoner Cell Block H, the Musical. Through 1995, 96 and 97 I spent a roller coaster ride with one of the sweetest, funniest people one could ever meet. From day one Paul and I hit it off and knew that we were going to be best buddies.

“And we certainly were! Night after night we romped our way through that silly show often ad-libbing, veering from the script and sending each other up unmercifully. For me it was a master class in comedy timing. Paul and I worked hard to entertain you all and loved every minute of it.

“We also partied hard…..sometimes a tad too much, but oh boy, it was fun. Paul O’Grady was a one-off. Multi-talented, from comedy to writing to simply being a damn good bloke. We will not see his like again nor the wonderful Lily. When you think of him, smile because I know he’d want that and just be grateful for the joy that he brought into our lives.”
