Fair City last night celebrated its 5,000th episode on RTÉ One, directed by Eleanor Cunney, and scripted by Carmel Callan.

The 5,000th episode featured dramatic scenes involving the much-loved character Nora Keogh (Ruth Hegarty) being knocked down in an incident at Molloy’s Car Garage.

With Ray querying where the chocks are that were on order, Ray leaves Doug to keep an eye on a car that is being held in place by bricks. Seeing to the car, Doug removes the bricks only for the car to begin to roll.

Sadly, Nora is in the wrong place at the wrong time, will Doug own up to what happened, or will he be hailed a hero? Catch up on last night’s action on the RTÉ Player.

This September, Fair City will celebrate 33 years on Irish television. Having faced challenging times with the Covid 19 pandemic forcing the much loved soap off our screens for 5 months, it is a testament to cast and crew to maintain output of four episodes a week.

Sponsored by Chill Insurance, Fair City recently announced a product placement sponsorship with Square, its Square Stand and Square Terminal placed in Vino’s – the wine bar – will be the latest method of payment in the restaurant run by fan favourite Paul Brennan initially for 6 months.
