OTD 1980: Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip in Leicester

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip visit Leicester for the first time in 22 years.
The ATV Today news report shows the royals receiving a greeting by the city’s Lord Mayor, a blessing from the Bishop of Leicester, a tour of the new, twelve and a half million pound, extension to the Leicester Royal Infirmary, which was officially opened by Her Majesty, the Queen and a tour of the city centre, in the rain, talking to some of the thousands of people who waited to greet the royal couple.
