Gogglebox celebrates its tenth anniversary with a brand-new programme featuring some of the show’s very best moments.
It’s been a whole ten years since Britain’s sharpest armchair critics first hit the sofa for the best telly going. In a 90-minute special the programme refects on past moments with a chance to look back at stand-out telly highlights and comments from favourite Goggleboxers – from old faces Steph and Dom, Leon, June, Sandra and Sandi, to current armchair critics Pete and Sophie, Mary and Giles, Jenny, Lee and, of course, the Siddiquis, who have been on Gogglebox since it all started.
Packed with TV moments that have had us laughing, crying and hiding behind the cushions, how a nation somehow survived lockdowns, a revolving door of prime ministers, and Ed Balls dancing Gangnam Style on Strictly.
Launching in 2013 the series was originally narrated by the late Caroline Aherne, she had to withdraw from the show during its 2016 run due to a failing voice. Caroline died from cancer aged 52 in July 2016. Long-term comedy collaborator Craig Cash stepped into the Googlebox narrator role in April 2016, having occasionally filled in for Caroline in the years previously, and has remained with the programme as its only narrator ever since.
