Pick of the Plots: Wednesday 25th January

It’s the morning of Jay and Lola’s wedding, but Lola admits to Kim that she has been experiencing worrying symptoms. As Denise and Kim finish doing Lola’s hair and makeup, she begins to panic about the future.

Meanwhile, Jay has a heart-to-heart with Honey, and she accidentally lets slip that Billy is off on a secret mission. At Emma Harding’s work, Billy finally finds her and tells her who he is – will she agree to attend Lola’s wedding?

Jay catches up with Billy and chastises him for going behind Lola’s back. But he’s got bigger problems when he arrives at the wedding only to find that Lola isn’t there. At the hospital, after being checked over, Lola tells a shocked Kim that she can’t go through with the wedding.

Elsewhere, Sam tries to explain her decision to go to Germany but Jack is livid and points out that their son could face criminal charges.

Later, Jack apologises to Ricky Jr. for his anger and for neglecting him recently. Sam sees Jack and Ricky Jr. leaving for the police station and feels awful. She turns around to find Ricky down on one knee holding an engagement ring. What will Sam say?

Also, Sonia is stunned to find Reiss on her doorstep. Kim lies to Bernie that she has found her her dream job.

EastEnders, BBC One, tonight at 7.30pm

Daryan calls in the café with some flyers promoting the refugee drop-in session at Speed Daal and suggests to Max that he might like to join them. Max is disparaging and stalks out.

David prepares tea, oblivious to Max on his phone, listening to Blake outside Speed Daal delivering a racist rant and promising to put a stop to the drop-in session.

As Blake heads into Speed Daal, secretly filming himself, it’s clear his target is Maria. Maria delivers her speech, welcoming the refugees and offering them support. Will Max tell anyone what Blake is up to?

Meanwhile, telling Evelyn that she’s off to stay with her mum, Fiz heads out. Evelyn is concerned when Tyrone fails to kiss Fiz goodbye. When Evelyn clocks Tyrone, suited and booted, climbing into a car, she’s convinced he’s about to embark on another affair.

Having followed Tyrone to a hotel bar, Evelyn and Roy watch as a blonde lady parks herself at Tyrone’s table and he squeezes her thigh. Evelyn is horrified.

Elsewhere, Stephen fumes when Carla orders him to help Kirk out in packing. His humiliation is confounded when an old business associate, Dick Havisham drops by and Carla explains what he is doing.

Also, Daisy receives a box of chocolates from Justin. Christina reckons she should be flattered, leaving Daisy annoyed.

Coronation Street, ITV1, tonight at 8pm

Unhappy about Priya’s plan to move away for the new job with Amba, David is determined to take control.

Meanwhile, Rishi is crestfallen.

Elsewhere, Bernice catches Cathy washing her skirt in the sink. Opening up a little, overwhelmed Cathy feels ashamed of her heavy periods and explains this is the reason why she missed her exam.

A pensive Cathy is relieved and grateful for Bernice’s support and promises to talk with Manpreet about ways to help manage her symptoms.
