Despite the fact that it’s the morning of Dot’s funeral, Sonia is still contemplating her eulogy. As Lauren arrives for the funeral, Ricky, Jack, and Sonia reminisce about Dot, and Sonia admits she has writer’s block.
Martin finds Sonia at the laundrette after she uses Dot’s spare key to let herself in. Sonia, who is inconsolable over the unwritten eulogy, tells him she cannot do it, but Martin encourages her to speak from the heart.
The residents of Albert Square line the streets as Dot’s horse-drawn coffin departs for the church. When Sonia sees the outpouring of love for Dot, she is overwhelmed. Sharon is surprised and delighted when Colin arrives to pay his respects.
At the church, the mourners gather – including Mary and Disa. Mary reveals that Lofty is en route, and Sharon is touched that they all came. Kathy is surprised to see Disa and they hug each other. Disa says she has a lot to thank Dot for.
EastEnders, BBC One, tonight at 7.35pm
Mike and Esther insist on dropping Summer at the hospital for her scan but agree to wait outside. However, as Summer and Aaron play for time in the hospital, Mike suddenly appears at their side insisting he should be there. Summer and Aaron brace themselves to tell Mike the truth.
Meanwhile, Martha breaks the news to Ken that she starts rehearsals on a new play in Hull tomorrow. Ken is gutted. Having heard from Brian that Ken made a night of it with Martha, Wendy is put out.
Unsure whether to follow his head or his heart, Ken is stunned when Martha suggests he should move to Hull with her.
Elsewhere, Griff presents a thrilled Max with a top-of-the-range video camera and tells him he’s now their official videographer.
Also, Tyrone reveals his surprise wedding plans to Kevin and Abi. Beth agrees to make some alterations to the dress he has chosen.

Chas finally decides to move on from Al.
A family dinner with Rhona and Marlon leaves Chas more in love and grateful for Paddy and Eve than ever before.
Meanwhile, Mandy is horrified to find Vinny battered and bruised.
Elsewhere, Kim enjoys putting Gabby and Dawn against each other for better results.
Also, Matty tries to persuade Moira and Amy to go to the police.
