Forty years after Coventry was razed to the ground by German bombers, a service of reconciliation was held in the new Cathedral as ATV Today and Wendy Nelson reported.
The service was attended by ambassadors from Poland, Yugoslavia, Denmark, the Netherlands and Germany. Shots of the service in progress including the Provost of Coventry speaking. Wendy Nelson spoke to former Prime Minister Edward Heath after the service.
Heath said that Coventry had learnt that there was nothing to be gained from resentment, anger and looking back all the time.
