ATV Today met fifth form pupils from Binley Park Comprehensive School in Coventry, who had created a factory environment by manning a production line producing Christmas crackers.
Reporter Margaret Hounsell interviewed the course master David Shapcott about the children’s reactions to this type of work. Those involved seemed keen as the project was self-supporting because the children are being paid and the crackers sold.
Scapcott adds that they now know that they will be bored at work as well as at school. There is also a brief interview with a schoolgirl about her opinion of factory work.
