Tragic ending for EastEnders’ Lola?

EastEnders’ Lola Pearce is to be diagnosed with a brain tumour.

The Sun reports that EastEnders’ Lola Pearce is to be diagnosed with a brain tumour.

EastEnders is reportedly planning to kill off Lola Pearce in a brain tumour storyline.

Actress Danielle Harold was recently reported to be leaving the show as part of a ‘cast cull’, which also included Ricky Champ (Stuart) and Dayle Hudson (Peter).

Lola’s exit storyline has now emerged via The Sun who note that her time in Walford will come to a very definite end after she is diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour.

The storyline is apparently due to begin airing this autumn, and producers have been thrashing out the details with brain tumour charities to ensure it is told accurately.

“Lola will be seen settling down and falling in love with on-off boyfriend Jay Brown before her cancer takes hold. Viewers will be “in pieces” as they watch the lovebirds torn apart by her terminal diagnosis.” – The Sun

Danielle originally played the role of Lola between 2011-2015. The rebellious granddaughter of Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) was in care before being taken in by her ‘pops’.

The character’s storylines included falling pregnant after a one night stand with Ben Mitchell, fighting Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) over custody of her daughter Lexi, and relationships with Peter Beale (Ben Hardy) and Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick).

Lola and Lexi departed Walford to make a fresh start in Newcastle in July 2015.

She was reintroduced by producer Kate Oates in 2019, and since then has had a rekindled romance with Jay and a new relationship with Isaac Baptiste (Stevie Basaula), whom she supported during a psychotic episode.
