Michael Buble on life and music

Singer Michael Buble opened up on Friday’s Lorraine…

The ‘Crazy Love‘ performer spoke about finally overcoming imposter syndrome, the new Buble baby on the way and working with Sir Paul McCartney.

Lorraine Kelly asked if he thought his new album was the best thing he’d ever done, with Michael believing it is.

Michael Buble:

“I do. Not just the best thing I’ve ever done, but I think it’s the healthiest I’ve ever been, probably mentally. I’ve been through a lot and now I’m at this place where [I’ve got a] healthy family, I’m 20 years in, I think I’ve finally maybe proved I’m not going to be a flash in the pan.

“As an artist, you go, ‘How long can I be relevant?’ You watch these people that you’re crazy about and their careers just disappear, and you go, ‘Oh my god, could that be me?’ It’s been such a joy getting to continue the legacy of my heroes.

“The fact I’ve written hit songs again…It’s been a long time since I’ve had a hit song. It’s been like ten years. I don’t think I was able to write hit songs. In the past ten years, four of those years my son was ill and I was gone, two of them there was a pandemic, and that takes a big chunk of time away – it’s nice to be back.”

On expecting another child with his wife Luisana Lopilato, he confided in Lorraine that he is either be ‘brave or stupid’.

Michael Buble:

“I’m either really brave or so stupid!” and added his five year old Eli had a surprising reaction to the news of the baby. Michael joked: “He was just crushed that he could not be there to be with us and to enjoy the moment of mum and dad falling in love and creating the child.”

Lorraine Kelly’s daily magazine show airs on ITV weekdays from 9 am. To watch the interview and show in full visit itv.com/hub
