Pick of the Plots: Wednesday 23rd December

The police haul Gary in for questioning regarding the disappearance of Rick Neelan. Sarah is frustrated when they don’t keep him in. Maria overhears Sarah railing at Gary, referring to him being behind Neelan’s demise. When Gary fails to come up with a plausible explanation, Maria threatens to call the police.

Meanwhile, Leanne tries to remain upbeat as Nick heads out to pick up Sam for a visit. Nick’s touched upon his return to find that Leanne has decorated a tree and cooked them Christmas dinner. He assures Sam that he’ll visit him in London as often as he can and they’ll do the museums together.

Later, Leanne suggests to Nick that it would be better if he rented a flat, moved Sam in and got to know his son properly without having to worry about her. Natasha reluctantly agrees to leave Sam with Nick for the three months she’ll be in London and lets him move into her flat. Is this really what Leanne wants?

Elsewhere, Roy and Nina urge Shona to talk to David; Paul admits the truth to Billy about his meetings with Will, and Billy warns Paul about Todd.

Mack is nearly caught by Moira at the barn, where he’s keeping his stashed merchandise.

Meanwhile, Paul tells Aaron about Liv’s seizure and she’s furious. As Paul tries to leave, Liv reveals his secret to Vinny.

Edward breaks the heartbreaking news to Tony that Diane is dead. With the net closing in on Edward, he makes one last play for victory over Tony and plans to poison his son.

Meanwhile, Sienna refuses to accept that she’ll have to share Faith and falls back into Warren’s bed. However, Liberty sees Sienna and Warren kissing in The Dog car park and tells Brody.

Elsewhere, when Ollie sneaks out to buy more drugs on Christmas Day, Luke takes drastic action, leaving Cindy and Ollie stunned.

Also, Imran embarrasses Yazz by giving Tom her childhood ‘dream wedding’ scrap book as a joke present, but it leaves Tom feeling a little insecure that he might not be her dream man.
