Pick of the Plots: Wednesday 16th December

Gary, David and Abi’s efforts to track down Colin, Ray’s crooked water board engineer, are unsuccessful much to Ray’s delight. Debbie tells Ray that riling the locals is getting them nowhere so it’s time to adopt a different approach. Later, Ray is not best pleased with Debbie for failing to consult him about the revised development and tells her that from now on, he makes the decisions.

Meanwhile, Todd calls on Paul, having learned that he’s skiving off work. Paul admits he had a tough night on the helpline. He begins to relax in Todd’s company but is brought up short by a sudden reminder of Kel. Sensing vulnerability, Todd insists Paul can trust him with his troubles. Later, Todd expresses an interest in becoming a volunteer too but Billy is suspicious of his motives.

Elsewhere, Simon tears a strip off Carla following recent events. In a bid to get back at Gary, Sarah calls Crimestoppers and tells them she knows where a corpse is buried and who put it there. Elaine suggests to Tim taking things slowly, while Tim ponders him and Faye resurrecting their window cleaning round.

Sylver also pushes Mercedes away when he finds out what she has been up to, but he drives her into the company of Warren. Later, Warren has a mystery female caller, but who ends up in his bed?

Meanwhile, Imran tells Sid that he really likes Brooke, while Brooke confides in Nancy that she feels the same. John Paul buys Nancy a new watch to help replace the one that he stole from her.

Hollyoaks, Wednesday at 6.30pm on Channel 4.

Rob takes an anxious Tom and Ella to their counselling session with Jimmi at the Mill. Tom becomes emotional when he gives his account of what happened that day. Ella also gets emotional and says her mum was really shouting at her dad. Seeing the confusion on Jimmi’s face, she quickly corrects herself but the seeds of doubt have already been sown in Jimmi’s mind.

Daniel is on duty at the prison and is soon called for when one prisoner attacks another in the recreation room. The attack appears to have been unprovoked – the perp, Simon, appears to have disassociated from it and refuses to give a reason for what he has done.

Later at the Mill, Jimmi brings Daniel up to speed about his day and Daniel is horrified to make the connection that Simon is Tom and Ella’s dad. Jimmi is shocked to learn what Simon has done as his instincts are telling him something about the whole situation is way off.

Elsewhere, Ruhma gets a shock when Carrie Wade arrives to see her. Karen doesn’t understand why Al is so grumpy about Lily moving in with him.
