Showbiz 10: ‘You’re going to have to do a little bit more than that…’

Your weekend Showbiz 10 round-up of entertainment news and celebrity gossip.

Weekend showbiz newswrap with a look at Gordon Ramsay’s lack of spuds, another item of fakeness from Katie Price and you need to work hard to keep Graham Norton’s attention.

MICRO CHIPS

Gordon Ramsay was criticised after serving a tiny portion of fish and chips as a full, not cheap, meal in one of his swanky London eateries.

The measly offering gave six chips, one small battered fish and mushy peas. For the usual price at a chippy about £6, for Gordon’s offering nearly £20 at £18.50.

Well, times are hard and chips are few…

DROP OUT

The Sun reported the hilarious story of our darling of the tabloids Katie Price being left horrified that her fake teeth dropped out just weeks after getting veneers.

The paper report the former ‘page three stunna’ was left looking like a ‘Bond Villain’ due to the gaps and fangs remaining. The former glamour model that’s seen her glamour wither away along with her dosh has had them fixed up since.

She’s had a run of bad luck of late. In our last Showbiz 10 we noted how she was having treatment for going bald and earlier this year she somehow managed to break both her ankles.

She does suffer for those tabloid inches.

WEDDING BELLS WILL RING

Actor Joe Swash, best-known for his role in EastEnders and singer and regular Loose Women Stacey Solomon confirmed this week they do have plans for marriage.

The celebrity couple has been dating since 2015, following meeting each other on an ITV2 I’m A Celeb spin-off show. In 2019 they welcomed Rex into their family, no not a dog dear, a son.

“We’ve had so many things we need to deal with, the kids, lockdown – I will get round to it eventually. This has just reminded me. Stacey has the wedding all planned in her head – I’m not going to have a say in any of it.”– Joe Swash speaking to The Daily Mail

DAVID PECK-EM

David Beckham uploaded a sweet snap of himself with his daughter Harper earlier this week. Nothing wrong with that you’d think, but the former footballer has divided his followers because the image shows him giving his 9-year-old a peck on the lips.

That’s right a little peck, not a snog, not a smooch, not a Frenchie. However, this brief happy moment lead to followers question the dad and daughter moment of family love.

The photograph, which was also shared to wife Victoria’s social media, was taken following a day of fruit and vegetable picking at an organic farm.

BOXING CLEVER

Strictly Come Dancing 2020 contestant Nicola Adams has hit back at the critics who have not been overly keen on the BBC One show having a same-sex coupling. Those who had spoken about the two female dancers included Graham Norton and former Strictly head judge Len Goodman.

The former boxer also had several negative comments on social media from viewers.

“I’ve been through so much in my life, like people’s comments really can’t affect me now. Growing up with domestic violence, having to look after my brother while my mum was in hospital with meningitis and almost died.

“It’s like, when I see comments on Twitter, I’m like, ‘You’re going to have to do a little bit more than that if you want to affect me with a couple of words.” – Nicola Adams speaking to Attitude Magazine

BABY JOY

Former EastEnders actress Brooke Kinsella has been congratulated on her gorgeous baby girl. Brooke, who played Kelly Taylor in the BBC saga, posted a snap of her newborn this week and revealed her name.

“One whole month of utter chaos and magic. Thanks for choosing us Elsie.”

Elsie is her first child with husband Simon Boardley

SOOO BORING

Graham Norton spoke to Female First about ‘zoning out’ during dull interviews. Over the past two decades, Norton has interviewed 100s of celebs on his Channel 4, BBC Two, BBC One and BBC Radio 2 programmes

“You zone back in and they’re still talking and you think: ‘I wonder if I’ve missed anything?’ But, you probably haven’t. That’s the trick. It’s just yakkety yak. If I’m on it, I’m listening. I’m still bored.”

“The people who work on the show dislike a lot more guests than I do. When they get on the sofa they’re nicer. Performers – actors, singers, models – don’t want to drop that facade in front of an audience. They want that audience to like them.”

BRYDON BACK ON THE ROAD

Award winning comedian Rob Brydon and his eight-piece band will take to the road next year with his new show, Rob Brydon – A Night Of Songs & Laughter. Tickets across the tour are on general sale now at www.robbrydon.live

The tour begins in March 2021 and will travel to almost 20 venues across the country, opening in Rhyl on Saturday 27 March 2021, and playing through until the final date at Northampton Derngate on Sunday 2 May. Further dates follow in September–December 2021.

With songs from Tom Waits to Tom Jones, and Guys and Dolls to Elvis (and almost everything in between), audiences can expect Rob’s usual warmth and humour as well as some of his famed gallery of voices.

KEEP ABREAST OF IT

Former The Only Way Is Essex regular Lucy Mecklenburgh took to social media to hit back at members of the public who have been giving her filthy side looks while breastfeeding her son Roman.

“I will not cover Roman with a Muslin, the same as you won’t eat your pizza with a blanket over your head. I will not hide away or be made to feel ashamed or embarrassed for feeding my baby.”

She welcomed Roman with fiancé and former Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas earlier this year.
