Pick of the Plots: Monday 26th August

The latest goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, and Hollyoaks.

SoapWeek: Corrie

When an excited Seb tells her that Alina is coming to see him, Eileen ponders on Jan and Moira and Liz realise that she is still missing him. Eileen is later startled by a visitor at home. Jan professes his love for Eileen and asks her to move away with him to Amsterdam.

Meanwhile, Michelle sees a text on Robert’s phone saying the ring is ready for collection, believing it to be hers she asks him to make sure he picks it up. Robert who already has her ring hides it in his car and collects the replica for Vicky.

Later, Robert finds himself in another hostile encounter with Jed who, having smashed Robert’s van window, demands to know why he needs two rings. Robert is forced to tell Michelle the van was broken into and the ring stolen. When Craig comes to take the details, Michelle is bemused to discover he was in Macclesfield at the time

Elsewhere, Ryan gives Gary the runaround; Garry issues Derek with a threat after he mouths off; Shona tells David about Max’s recent behaviour and feels terrible when David points out that it was Kylie’s birthday recently; and Billy tells Emma to follow her heart if she wants to get to know Steve.

Coronation Street, Monday at 7.30pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: EastEnders

Ben accosts Mel for information on Lisa. Mel manages to shake him off before returning to the basement where Hunter is hiding. Mel is determined to help her son who has sustained a nasty gash to the leg, so she researches antibiotics at the club. Mel is forced to cover when Sharon arrives anxious about her amniocentesis.

To Sharon’s surprise, Mel offers to accompany her to the hospital, however it soon becomes clear that Mel has an ulterior motive for being there. Later, Ben sees Mel heading to the basement and follows.

Meanwhile, Whitney finds Callum’s letters from Chris but doesn’t get any concrete answers from him.  Whitney confides in Sonia who offers her reassurance about her relationship. Later, Whitney tells Callum that she’s not interested in his past, it’s all about their future together.

Elsewhere, Bailey makes an attempt to contact her mum through a medium but it doesn’t go to plan; Jean seeks solace with Daniel; Kathy issues a stern warning to Rainie; and Ruby grows conflicted about her relationship with Max.

EastEnders, Monday at 8pm on BBC One.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

Megan’s floored when Tracy reveals the ring box that she thinks Frank was retrieving from the factory when he was killed. Megan puts the ring on and crumbles into guilty tears.

Outside the Church, Tracy tries to prove Frank’s innocence in regards to the fire to the villagers, but is angered when Vanessa doesn’t support her. As the funeral gets underway, Megan delivers some tough words to the congregation.

Elsewhere, Dawn and Nicola feel betrayed; and Jacob reveals his future plans.

Emmerdale, Monday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Diane tells Tony and Sinead that Finn wants to see her, and Sinead tries to deter her from going. Louis’ body resurfacing makes Tony worry about Harry’s whereabouts. Tony tells Diane he is not giving up on his son. This strikes a chord with Diane and she goes to see Finn, who tells her he wants to be housed away from the village following his release.

Meanwhile, Damon is released on bail and Brody convinces him and Maxine to put in an appearance at The Dog. Feeling judged, Damon defends his actions; he acted out of love and a desire to make his dying wife happy.

Elsewhere, Bobby calls Mercedes a traitor and tells her that he doesn’t like her. Nana tells Mercedes to do what’s best for Bobby, not what’s best for her. Later, Mercedes tells Liam that Bobby and Sylver are better off without her…

Also, Sylver helps Grace with her physio therapy, and she is smitten with him.

Hollyoaks, Monday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.
