Pick of the Plots: Friday 23rd August

The latest goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks.

Blaming Audrey for keeping her in the dark, Emma announces that she is leaving Weatherfield and packs her bags. As Emma says her goodbyes, Amy tells Steve and Tracy they have to sort it out as she is part of the family. Later, Tracy and Amy find an upset Emma on the station platform – will they be able to convince her to stay? 

Meanwhile, Shona and Billy prepare for Lily’s birthday party. Max doesn’t take his ADHD meds, pocketing them on the sly. Later, Max kicks off and ruins the party, leaving a furious Shona to send everyone home. Shona admits to Audrey and Sarah that he has been like this for weeks and she is at the end of her tether. 

Elsewhere, Bethany tells Daniel that she’s decided she’s going to write up her experience with Nathan as it might prevent other girls from falling into the same trap. Tim encourages Eileen to come back to work and is sceptical when she swears herself off men. With Roy run off his feet, Aggie offers up her services. Aggie and Ed reunite.

Mel demands an explanation from the police about how Hunter escaped and insists they find him safely. After the police warn Mel to work with them, Mel makes a call to get legal advice. Later, Mel is stunned to find Hunter hiding in the E20 office. Desperate to protect her son, will Mel be able to sneak him out of the club unnoticed?

Rainie and Max come to blows over their arrangements with Abi and when Ian and Kathy get involved, a huge row erupts. Fed up, Bobby snaps and reminds them all that Abi should be their priority. 

Meanwhile, Stuart shares his concerns with Rainie about her continued use of pain killers.

After admitting to Maxine and the police that he has been stealing from the crowd-funding coffers, Damon swears that he won’t ever forgive Brody for reporting him. He begs the police to let him go so that he can spend Maxine’s last moments with her.

Meanwhile, Brody tells Maxine that he didn’t talk to the police. Maxine begs James to be Damon’s lawyer. She goes to the police to tell them the whole truth in the hopes of saving Damon, but Sienna stops her in time after James says Maxine being sick could be the key to Damon’s case.

Elsewhere, Breda tells Mandy that Darren is a terrible dad but Mandy convinces her that he’s trying his best, so she has a rethink on the poison cake. Nancy invites Lisa round for tea and Breda freaks to see her in close proximity to her dad’s ring being worn by Jack. Breda offers to pay for Lisa to go and be with Simone in Jamaica.

Also, Mercedes refuses to walk out on her family; Diane has been getting calls off an unknown number all day, the caller is revealed to be Finn who is getting released.
