Adam calls at No.8 and explains to Sarah that Nick has agreed to let her run the factory as sacking his work force wouldn’t look good at the moment. Grateful for his help Sarah kisses him, but as they head upstairs, they’re horrified to hear someone letting themselves in.
As Gary enters – using a key given to him by Bethany – Sarah straightens her clothes while Adam hides in the kitchen. Gary explains that he’s there to set up a surprise for her. Sarah whisks Gary off to the Rovers instead. Finally, extricating herself from Gary, Sarah calls at Adam’s flat. Will they pick up where they left off?
Meanwhile, Steve is horrified when he’s introduced to Aggie, husband Ed and son James, recognising the latter as the lad who was knocked down whilst fleeing his cab. Aggie and Ed tear a strip off James for risking his career as a footballer. Robert masks his jealousy as Michelle agrees to a drink with Michael. The Baileys crack open the rum and agree they wouldn’t have chosen to live on Coronation Street but they’ll have to make the best of things.
Also, David and Shona investigate Natalie’s disappearance. Yasmeen apologises to Sally for Geoff’s interference and hands over her share of Tiny’s stable fees.

With the fallout from the riot still underway, everyone in the village is shunning broken Ste, so he turns to alcohol.
Peri invites Ste to come to the Hutch to have dinner with the family and try to make amends.
Meanwhile, Brooke is persuaded to meet with Sally and explain what happened in the exam. Maxine decides to ask Grace to be her bridesmaid to cheer her up but Grace rejects the gesture.

Although she is recovering well, Ruhma continues to fret about Alia. Karen sympathises, telling Ruhma that letting them go is the hard part. Later Karen finds Ruhma sketching in the staffroom, Valerie comes in and comments on her work, Ruhma mentions how Heston exposed her to so much art and now she feels like she’s lost her way.
Later Valerie finds Karen with one of Heston’s old art books, Karen says she was saving it for Immie, it gave her an idea about life drawing, Valerie thinks that’s a bit much for Ruhma but Ruhma overhears and wants to sign up. Later, however, Ruhma has second thoughts on decency rather than religious grounds.
Meanwhile, Daniel can’t get Becky out of his head. He finally summons up he courage to call her but he chickens out of telling her why he has called and instead makes out that it is about work. Afterwards, Daniel is frustrated with himself.
