Quest, the Discovery-owned free-to-air channel, this week announced it will extend its English Football League highlights show.
“Our decision to extend the flagship show is another positive step to super-serving what we know is a hugely passionate audience. It’s vital to us that we provide the best possible viewing experience across all leagues, and this extended coverage will ensure fans witness all the twists and turns as the season draws to an exciting climax.” – Simon Downing, Head of Channel Quest
The series EFL on Quest is to stay on air the channel for the remainder of the 2018-19 season.
Starting Saturday 30th March at its usual 9pm timeslot, the show will move to a two-hour show (from 90 mins), allowing fans to enjoy more action and analysis dedicated to every league – from the Championship to Leagues One and Two – during full game weeks as the season reaches an unforgettable climax.
The first episode of the extended EFL on Quest show will see host Colin Murray joined by former Derby County and Blackburn Rovers star Stephen Warnock to analyse the action featuring potentially season-defining fixtures such as Middlesbrough versus Norwich City, Luton Town versus Bristol Rovers and Exeter City versus Mansfield Town.
Driven to deliver content which best serves fan viewing habits and consumer needs, Quest has increased its digital output in the form of greater collaboration with EFL clubs to create bespoke short-form content as well as publishing more clips of the best goals and highlights from the EFL. Engaging fans across multiple platforms remains at the forefront of Quest’s broader business strategy.
In May 2018, Quest announced it had secured the free-to-air highlights for the Sky Bet Championship, Sky Bet League One, Sky Bet League Two, Carabao Cup and Checkatrade Trophy Final in a four-year partnership with the EFL. EFL on Quest is available to watch each Saturday throughout the season on Freeview channel 114, Freesat channel 167, Sky channel 144 and Virgin channel 217 while fans can catch up on the show via QuestOD.co.uk.
