Later, Seb attends the twins’ hearing, lying that he’s got a full-time job and the backing of Eileen. However, Abi tells the court that while it breaks her heart, she wants the twins to remain with their foster parents as Seb is lying. How will the court rule? Seb feels betrayed by everyone. Peter takes Abi back to his boat where he comforts her and they end up kissing passionately.

Doctors Pick of the Plots logo

At the Mill, Al bursts in on Jimmi and Ayesha to ask Jimmi to swap cars with him, and to take his patients for the afternoon. Ayesha guesses what it is – he’s trying to impress a girl; a vicar called Frances. Al concedes and so they agree to help. The date doesn’t go entirely to plan with Frances calling in on various parishioners, however Al’s enthusiasm soon perks up when Frances introduces him to Bob, her old lecturer, who was one of the Apollo crew.

Al engages with Audrey, Bob’s granddaughter, as she shows him a weather balloon. Al has an idea – has she ever launched anything into space? Later, Al has got his car back and as he and Frances sit in it, Al goes in for a kiss but their seat belts stop them getting any closer. Al tells Frances he’d like to do this again, but Frances tells him she’s leaving on Sunday.

Doctors, Wednesday at 1.45pm on BBC One.
