Pick of the Plots: Tuesday January 8th

The latest goings on in River City, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors.

SoapWeek: River City

Stevie takes drastic action to try to save Callum. Elsewhere, Maggie faces Ellie’s wrath, and Sonny meddles in Lou’s love life with disastrous results.

River City, Tuesday at 8pm on BBC One Scotland.


SoapWeek: EastEnders

Tiffany slips away after spending the night at Bernadette’s and meets up with Evie in the café. Tiffany feels uneasy with Evie’s flirtatious behaviour and when she accuses Tiffany of leading Bernadette on, Tiffany is quick to disagree.

Karen gives Bernadette a makeover but things don’t go to plan and the bathroom gets destroyed in the process. Later, Bernadette spots Evie and Tiffany together and is heartbroken when Evie deliberately kisses Tiffany in front of her. Meanwhile Karen persuades Mitch to fix the bathroom.

Elsewhere, Max stresses over plans for Abi’s 1st birthday party and when he is called to work he asks Jack to keep an eye on the baby. Feeling shut out, Rainie offers to take charge but when she collects the cake she has a dizzy spell and ends up dropping it. As Rainie busies herself with making a replacement cake, she ends up collapsing and Max is shocked to find her on the floor while Abi is crying in the next room.

Also, Linda tries to reassure Mick as its clear prison is still taking its toll on him.

EastEnders, Tuesday at 7.30pm on BBC One.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

Marlon tries to keep Paddy and Mandy apart as he is worried that she may be about to turn his life upside down.

Convinced Lachlan is behind a series of strange occurrences, Belle is frustrated that nobody believes her. Later, Belle arrives home to find Sam covered in blood – Gloria the pig has been killed. Belle is hell bent on confronting Lachlan.

Elsewhere, Debbie is rattled when she receives a package from Joe. She arrives at Home Farm to probe Priya who explains that Joe had set up surprise gifts leading up to a holiday and that she forgot to cancel it. Discontent, Debbie later arrives at the police station to report Joe as a missing person.

Meanwhile, Graham assures Megan that he is in full control of his alcoholism and that there’s nothing to worry about.

Emmerdale, Tuesday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

Buster’s trial continues as Ollie gives his emotional testimony against him. The questions are harsh, which makes Darren think Brooke may not be able to handle it, and Ollie agrees.

Scott and Damon find out that Brody punched a wall, but they don’t realise how much he’s struggling. Brody gets called up to testify. And when Luke testifies, he loses his cool and has to be escorted from the courtroom.

Elsewhere, Juliet blackmails Sienna after she gives Imran extra time to finish an exam.

Hollyoaks, Tuesday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

Zara struggles to contain her emotions in front of the staff when Daniel walks back into Mill and ignores her. When Ruhma asks about his time away Daniel almost opens up but keeps up his lie about ‘man flu’. Zara desperately tries to talk to Daniel at the end of the day. ‘Can they sort this out at home?’

Meanwhile, Karen, Ayesha and Valerie all pick up on the poisonous atmosphere between Daniel and Zara. They speculate about what might have caused the row and worry if a serious split could threaten the future of the practice.

Elsewhere, Mrs Tembe and Gordon help out at a food bank and enjoy spending time together.

Doctors, Tuesday at 1.45pm on BBC One.
