Pick of the Plots: Monday January 7th

The latest goings on in Coronation Street, EastEndersEmmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors.

SoapWeek: Corrie

Imran summons Duncan to his office while Gina and Kirk head off to Duncan’s address. Meanwhile, Tim spots Duncan at the solicitors and insists on following him home. When Duncan returns home, Gina is forced to hide under the bed, but manages to escape via a window when Tim’s banging on the door proves a distraction. After Tim leaves, Duncan sets off up the road and Gina follows him to a phone box. When he’s finished, Gina slips into the phone box and presses redial. What will she find?

Meanwhile, Paul spots Chesney talking to Carla so he threatens Gemma that he’ll reveal her past to Rita if she or Chesney give him any more grief. Hurt by Gemma’s rejection, Chesney puts everything in to his relationship with Emma.

Elsewhere, Paul flirts with Billy; Jenny begs Liz to drop the charges against Johnny and Liz realises that Johnny is covering for her; David offers a cash-strapped Gary and Sarah a place to stay; Mary bids a tearful farewell to Angie and George as they leave for South Africa; and Brian insists his teaching days are over and he is going to find a new career.

Coronation Street, Monday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV, STV and UTV.

SoapWeek: Emmerdale

It’s the day of Marlon and Jessie’s official wedding and they persuade a passing Jimmy into being their second witness. As the ceremony gets under way, everyone is shocked as Mandy Dingle bursts through the door, and Paddy is awkward when she relieves Jimmy of his duties. All hell breaks loose when an emotional Chas arrives and goes for Mandy.

Ryan is gutted when Dawn tells him they can’t be together until she’s fully recovered and an eavesdropping Charity is secretly pleased.

Elsewhere, Belle is uneasy when she receives a package of dead flowers; Faith talks to Matty about his decision to have a mastectomy.

Emmerdale, Monday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

It’s the first day of Buster’s trial, but as Darren and Mandy go to wake up Ollie, they discover he’s missing. Brody is struggling just as much as Ollie and punches a wall in stress.

Meanwhile, Maxine is taken off the ventilator, and Damon goes to see her wanting to make things right between them.

Also, Sienna sees Juliet and Imran fighting on her first day at Hollyoaks High. She tells Imran off, not realising that Juliet was the culprit.

Hollyoaks, Monday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.

Ruhma goes to Mrs Tembe as she has had a cash offer on the house and isn’t sure on how to proceed. It’s hard being in the house since Heston died, but the timing isn’t good as Alia has got exams. Mrs Tembe advises Ruhma to do what she thinks is right whilst Emma sort of offers her a place to stay if she needs it.

Meanwhile, Zara fills Emma in on the latest between her and Daniel – they haven’t spoken and he just took Joe for a few days. Later, Mrs Tembe tells Zara that Daniel intends to return to work tomorrow.

Elsewhere, Al’s New Year’s resolution is to start driving again, and Jimmi speaks to Rob – they can organise a driving simulator to help him on his way.

Doctors, Monday at 1.45pm on BBC One.
