Valerie accompanies Ayesha to the Funeral Parlour, but things don’t go well when the cost of a good send-off dawns on Ayesha. When an inexpensive funeral is suggested, Ayesha goes on the defence – thinking she is being judged because her mum took drugs. Ayesha tells the funeral director that her mother was a victim of police brutality and deserves respect. Later, Emma makes a substantial contribution to a collection for Ayesha, but will she accept it?
As Ruhma further ponders her surname, Al suggests a new one Kartara – the Gujarati translation of Carter. Ruhma delightedly tells Mrs Tembe she can order the Practice Leaflets with this new name. However, is later horrified to discover she’s been had by Al.
Elsewhere, when an elderly lady reacts unexpectedly to some bad news, Zara is left stunned when she finds out why; Sid has an attack of conscience about his intimate relations with Megan.
