Pick of the Plots: Monday August 7th

SoapWorld takes a look at the latest goings on in Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and Doctors this Monday.

SoapWeek: Corrie

Robert is concerned about Michelle’s whereabouts, but is told once again that an alibi rules Rich out of any wrongdoing. However, Robert isn’t satisfied and takes matters into his own hands; violently confronting Rich. Later, Robert is arrested for GBH. 

A hung-over Leanne remembers that Steve proposed to her and they need to talk. Meanwhile, Liz encourages Steve to buy a ring and do the job properly. Later, watched by Amy, Simon, Peter, Toyah, Eva and Tracy, Steve gets down on one knee and lists to Leanne all the reasons their marriage could work. How will she respond? 

Elsewhere Gary is injured at work having had a couple of drinks before taking on a job, he masks his discomfort when his insurance is brought up; Gail and Rosie both want to be Todd and Adam’s PA; Alya lures Luke to her flat on a pretext.

Coronation Street, Monday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV, UTV and STV.


SoapWeek: EastEnders

Mick’s on tenterhooks as Linda returns to the Square. As Mick ponders telling her the truth about Whitney, Linda supports Whitney on her engagement. Later, Linda’s feeling that something isn’t right with Mick is exacerbated by a run-in with Shirley. Alone, Linda tells Mick no more secrets but gets a shock when he makes an admission…

Abi confronts Steven for ignoring her but he continues to assure her it’s all part of the plan for them to be together. At the Beale’s, Lauren and Steven discuss the wedding and both Abi and Max enjoy keeping Steven on-edge. Abi later calls Cora and tells her about the wedding.

Elsewhere, Keanu desperately searches for a job but is put out when he has no luck; Mr Pryce looks at flats in the area.

EastEnders, Monday at 8pm on BBC One. Repeated at 10pm on UKTV channel ‘W’.


SoapWeek: Emmerdale

Robert makes himself comfortable at Home farm, but panics when he hears Rebecca return. Frustrated to hear Lawrence has discharged himself, Robert thinks his plan is being thwarted. Later, after being prescribed pills for insomnia, Robert comes up with a plan to drug Lawrence.

Laurel visits an unnerved Emma and assures her she’s going to drop her vendetta against her. As their conversation progresses, Laurel makes it clear she knows the truth and plays the religious card to prick Emma’s conscience. Neither are aware that Ross is eavesdropping, could the truth be about to come out?

Elsewhere Pollard’s begrudgingly impressed when Josh fixes his car.

Emmerdale, Monday at 7pm on ITV, STV and UTV.


SoapWeek: Hollyoaks

James buys Armstrong’s silence after he saw him disposing of a black bin bag on the night of Amy’s death.

Cindy is alarmed to find out that Armstrong is planning to move in next door. Dirk is talked down from behaving rashly by Holly. However, we later see Dirk throw Armstrong’s police badge in the bin – what has he done?

Elsewhere Courtney witnesses Zack losing his rag while looking after Daniel; Neeta and Hunter plan to meet up but she is distracted; Nancy questions Luke’s drinking behaviour.

Hollyoaks, Monday at 6.30pm on Channel 4 and a ‘first look’ at 7pm on E4.
