ESPN America and ESPNPlayer.com will be the television and live streaming home of X Games Los Angeles as they bring viewers live and exclusive coverage of the action from Los Angeles between Thursday 28th June and Sunday 1st July.
This year’s X Games will feature more than 200 male and female athletes competing in skateboard, BMX, Moto X and Rally Cross events. ESPN America will broadcast more than 20 hours of live coverage, while the daily X Center show will round up all the highlights and news from Los Angeles.
Online, ESPNPlayer will deliver comprehensive coverage of X Games Los Angeles, with every event available to watch live and on-demand with the ability to pause and rewind action at the touch of a button.
The four days will see a host of top action sports stars taking part – legendary names like Brazilian skateboarder Bob Burnquist will feature alongside British BMX stars Jamie Bestwick and Simon Tabron. Bestwick will be attempting to secure an uprecedented sixth-consecutive gold medal in the BMX Freestyle Vert discipline.
The event will also serve as a rolling introduction of the new six-event annual global X Games series that will launch next year, which sees three new events added to the established games in Los Angeles and Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado and Tignes, France. Beginning in 2013 X Games events will also take place in Barcelona, Munich and Foz Do Iguaçu in Brazil.
ESPN America’s live television coverage of the X Games starts on Thursday 28th June and runs through to Sunday 1st July.
